NAMI – Rome, GA continues to seek community members to participate in NAMIWalks Rome 2026, scheduled for Saturday, September 26th at 11 am in downtown Rome. Walkers will meet at Heritage Park.
Jim Moore, member of the NAMI – Rome, GA leadership team, says that the event is aimed at raising awareness of mental illness with the ultimate goal of encouraging mental health.
There is no cost to participate, though walkers are encouraged to raise funds that will go towards NAMI – Rome, GA’s efforts to support those living with mental illness and their families. The public may get additional details and register at www.namiwalks.org/rome.
Bonnie Moore, also a member of the leadership team, states that this is the non-profit’s only fundraiser of the year.
There will be activities, crafts, music, and giveaways before the walk, adds Moore.
