The Chiaha Arts Guild is now accepting applications for its 2026 Arts Education Grant. Schools and nonprofits that serve grades PreK-12 in Rome and Floyd County are encouraged to apply. The application closes Monday, October 19 at 5:00 p.m.
Chiaha Arts Guild has championed arts education in Rome and Floyd County since its founding in 1964. In 2011, Chiaha formalized that commitment by establishing the annual Arts Education Grant program. Since then, the grant program has funded 65 arts education initiatives that have directly served nearly 37,000 local students.
“Arts education is at the heart of everything Chiaha does,” said Chris Davidson, president of Chiaha Arts Guild’s board. “Our grant program reflects a commitment that Chiaha has held since the very beginning, which is to make sure students in Rome and Floyd County have access to meaningful arts experiences. We’re proud to continue building on that legacy.”
The 2025 grant cycle supported five local programs: Rome High School’s Grand Finale Show Choir, Model High School’s Theatre Department, West End Elementary’s Music Program, Garden Lakes Elementary School’s Art Program, and the Rome International Film Festival’s Student Media Academy.
Chiaha will host a free grant information session on Thursday, October 1 at 5:30 p.m. at Cecil T’s Mercantile, 7 Broad St., Rome. The session will offer a Q&A, tips for a successful grant proposal, and guidance that applicants can use for grant writing beyond this program.
