The Atlanta Braves opened a six-game road trip on Monday night with a loss to the Chicago Cubs by 7-3 in the first outing of a three-game set in Chicago, IL.
The Braves scored all three of their runs during the top of the seventh inning. That included a two-run homer from pinch hitter Mike Yastrzemski.
The homestanding Cubs were led offensively by Pete Crow-Armstrong. He hit a two-run homer off AJ Smith-Shawver in the sixth and had a total of four hits and four RBIs on the night.
Reynaldo Lopez was charged with the loss for Atlanta after surrendering five runs and six hits, walking two, and striking out two over just three innings of work. David Peterson got the win for Chicago.
