The Atlanta Braves picked up a 6-3 win over the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday night in the second meeting of a three-game set at Wrigley Field in Chicago, IL. That evened the series at a game each.
The Cubs took an early lead with one run in the bottom of the second inning and two during the fourth. The Braves chipped away at that lead with a two-run homer from Ronald Acuna Jr. in the top of the sixth. They surged ahead with a two-run shot by Ozzie Albies in the seventh. Drake Baldwin added some insurance with a two-run bomb in the top of the ninth.
Martin Perez was Atlanta’s winning pitcher. He surrendered just three runs (two of them earned) and five hits, walked four, and struck out two over six innings en route to the 100th win of his career. Raisel Iglesias got the save. Jacob Webb was charged with the loss for Chicago.
The National League East-leading Braves are now 89-63 on the 2026 regular season. They will conclude their series in Chicago against the Cubs tonight. First pitch is scheduled for 7:40 pm.
