Rome DDA Invites Community to Celebrate International Park(ing) Day on Friday [AUDIO]

Rome’s Downtown Development Authority invites community members to its celebration of International Park(ing) Day on Friday, September 18^th.

Park(ing) Day is a global event during which parking spaces are temporarily turned into “park(ing)” spaces, or open public places.

Jennifer DeBord, Parking Director, says that the local observance will take on a mini-golf theme. Downtown revelers will have opportunities to enjoy mini-golf throughout the day at various locations to include the River District and on Broad Street.

Park(ing) Day originated in San Francisco, CA in 2005. It has since evolved into a global movement.
