Announcement from the Floyd County Emergency Management Agency:
Hemlock Street will close Monday for three days as part of infrastructure improvements that are ongoing at Georgia Northwestern Technical College.
The closure will begin at 7 a.m. on Monday September 21, 2026 at address #109. A private contractor will be replacing a manhole, which will close the entire street until at least Wednesday September 23.
As a point of reference this area on Hemlock Street cuts through the college campus. Access to private residences will be East 20th Street and Evergreen Street off Cedar Avenue. Commercial properties can be accessed from Cedar Avenue.
Please plan ahead. Detour signs will be in place.
