The Atlanta Braves are the National League East champions for 2026! The team clinched their division for the seventh time over the past nine years on Sunday afternoon with a 4-2 victory over the Houston Astros in the finale of a three-game set in Houston, TX. They swept that weekend series and went 4-2 during their next-to-last road trip of the regular season.
Mike Yastrzemski clubbed a three-run homer to put the Braves ahead during the top of the sixth inning.
Victor Mederos was credited with the win in relief for Atlanta. Dylan Dodd got the save. Bryan King was charged with the loss for Houston.
The NL East-champion Braves improved to 92-64 on the ’26 regular season. They are off today and will return to action on their home field at Truist Park in Atlanta on Tuesday evening with the opener of a three-game set versus the Cincinnati Reds.
