Time is running out to get farm-fresh and homemade goodies at the Ridge Ferry Park Farmer’s Market. The last day of the market for 2026 is Saturday, September 26th. Hours are 7 am to 11 am.
There have been some great vendors this year, states Tyler Stinson, Special Services Manager for Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation.
Ridge Ferry Park will be the site of the annual Paper Doll Parade and Breast Cancer Awareness 5K on Saturday evening. Regular registration closes this Friday and costs $41 for the run and $36 for the walk. Late registration will be available in person only and will cost $46 for both. A portion of the race’s proceeds will go towards mammography scholarships, according to Lindsey Jones, RFPR’s Recreation Services Manager. She adds that there will also be free mammograms on site at the race.
Paper Doll is presented by Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation and sponsored by Atrium Health Floyd, the Atrium Health Floyd-Polk Foundation, and the Floyd Spirit Foundation. Get more details at www.rfpra.com.
Saturday, October 24th will be a big day at Ridge Ferry Park. Kids will enjoy Truck or Treat, and all park visitors will enjoy Chili-Fest and Harvest Market. Cook teams and vendors are sought at this time, says Stinson.
