The Atlanta Braves opened up their MLB Postseason run victoriously as they defeated the Philadelphia Phillies by 5-3 on Tuesday in Game One of a best-of-three National League Wild Card Series.
The Phillies scored the first run of the day on an RBI double by Alec Bohm in the top of the first inning. The Braves tied it at 1-1 on an RBI single from Mike Yastrzemski in the bottom of the second. Ozzie Albies contributed an RBI triple that put the Braves ahead in the sixth. JT Realmuto hit a two-run triple that gave the Phillies a 3-2 lead in the seventh. Austin Riley clubbed a three-run homer to put the Braves back on top in the eighth. Atlanta starting pitcher Chris Sale gave up three runs and four hits, walked one, and struck out nine over six and one-third innings. Dylan Lee picked up the win in relief, and Raisel Iglesias got the save. Jhoan Duran was charged with the loss for Philadelphia.
