Media release from the Georgia Lottery Corporation:
An Ellijay resident won a $2 million top prize playing the 100Xtra scratcher at Valero Gas Station, 600 Howard Simmons Road in East Ellijay. The winner claimed their prize on Oct. 2. Last week, Georgia Lottery players claimed $38,636,117 in winnings from scratch-off tickets.
A Bonaire resident won $100,000 in the Oct. 3 Powerball drawing by matching four of the five white-ball numbers and the Powerball. The winner purchased the ticket online and selected the Powerplay option, which doubled their prize from $50,000 to $100,000. The next Powerball drawing will be Oct. 5 for a jackpot of $467 million.
Several players won prizes playing Diggi Games on the Georgia Lottery mobile app and website over the weekend:
- A Centerville resident won $769,143 playing The Lamp: Wishes Unleashed on Oct. 3.
- An Evans player won $75,000 playing Boo-nanza Bucks on Oct. 3.
- A resident of Atlanta won $25,000 playing Fishing for Gold On Tour on Oct. 2.
- A player in Athens won $20,000 playing Fishing for Gold On Tour on Oct. 2.
- A Woodstock resident won $12,500 playing Supernova 9s on Oct. 2.
Six tickets won the $10,000 top prize in the Oct. 3 evening drawing of Georgia FIVE. All six tickets were purchased at RJM Food Store, 145 N. Dugger Avenue in Roberta. Finally, a Marietta player won $7,500 in the Oct. 1 Millionaire for Life drawing by matching four of the five numbers and the Millionaire ball. They purchased their ticket on the Georgia Lottery website.
As with all Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from scratchers, Powerball, Diggi Games, Georgia FIVE, and Millionaire for Life benefit education in the state of Georgia.
