Media release from AdventHealth Georgia:
AdventHealth Redmond has reached a significant cardiovascular milestone, successfully completing its 1,000th transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) procedure, demonstrating its continued commitment to providing advanced heart care close to home for patients across Northwest Georgia.
The milestone reflects years of dedication from AdventHealth Redmond’s multidisciplinary cardiovascular team and highlights the hospital’s leadership in delivering innovative, minimally invasive treatment options for patients with severe aortic stenosis. The program’s success has been driven by the expertise and collaboration of physicians, nurses, cardiovascular specialists and support team members working together to improve patient outcomes.
TAVR is a minimally invasive procedure used to replace a narrowed aortic valve without the need for traditional open-heart surgery. For many patients, the procedure can reduce recovery times, improve quality of life, and help them return more quickly to the activities they enjoy.
AdventHealth Redmond celebrated the achievement alongside interventional cardiologists Dr. Cyrus Parsa and Dr. Kip Slicker, whose leadership has helped shape and grow the program since its inception.
“This milestone is a testament to the unwavering commitment of our physicians, nurses and cardiovascular team members who work every day to provide exceptional, whole-person care,” said Isaac Sendros, president and CEO of AdventHealth Redmond. “Reaching 1,000 TAVR procedures reflects not only clinical excellence, but also the trust our community places in us. We remain committed to expanding access to innovative heart care and treatments throughout the region.”
Since launching the program, AdventHealth Redmond has helped hundreds of patients facing serious heart conditions receive life-changing care without leaving their community. The 1,000th procedure represents not only a numerical achievement but also 1,000 lives touched, 1,000 families impacted and countless opportunities to improve health and well-being in Northwest Georgia and Northeast Alabama.
As cardiovascular needs continue to grow, AdventHealth Redmond remains focused on advancing heart and vascular services, investing in leading-edge technology and providing compassionate care that helps patients live healthier, fuller lives.
